5-6 December the seminar „Legal status of cross-border cooperation structures“ took place in Vilnius, Lithuania. This seminar was arranged by the Ministry of Interior of Lithuania and the Nordic Council of Ministers Office in Lithuania , in the framework of the WP1 of the BEN project. The main objective of the seminar was to evaluate existing legal possibilities provided by European institutions or national legislation, and to discuss what steps should be taken in order to resolve this problem. About 50 representatives from more then 10 countries attended the seminar, with speakers from European Commission, Council of Europe, Committee of the Regions, Lithuanian, Polish, Russian ministries.
