The starting conference of the Baltic Euroregional Network (BEN ) project took place on the 27th September 2005 in Vilnius, Lithuania. The conference gathered more then 100 representatives of project partners, representatives from different international organisations, networks, national governments and other institutions in the Baltic Sea Region. The main goals of the conference were to present activities of BEN and to discuss current issues of cross-border cooperation in BSR and the role of euroregions in this process.
The day before the starting conference, on the 26th of September, the first meeting of Steering Committe of the BEN was arranged in Vilnius. Representatives of 33 partners in the project attended this meeting.
