11 April 2007 a seminar "Euroregion as a tool for Russian-Finnish Cross-Border Cooperation" was arranged in St. Petersburg in the premisses of the Finnish Consulate. 42 representatives from Rusian and Finnish border local and regional authorities have gathered together in order to discuss if Euroregion would be a suitable tool for cooperation between Leningrad region in Russia and neighbouring Finnish regions. At the moment there are no Euroregions established in this area.
